Man/Woman/Chainsaw – “Something Else To Give”
London group Man/Woman/Chainsaw have released "Something Else To Give," the final single from their forthcoming debut album Cannonball. The band, tipped by Stereogum as a Band To Watch two years ago, continue to build on earlier singles with a sound that blends orchestral flourishes and alt-rock, drawing comparisons to Black Country, New Road but with a more radio-friendly feel.
Vocalist Vera Leppänen describes the track as "a song on love and disappointment," about putting in effort for someone who doesn't reciprocate it, and says it came together quickly and organically as the natural closing track for the record. Musically it moves from confident drums, bass and conversational vocals into synths, strings, guitars and backing vocals, building to a dynamic, dramatic finish. Cannonball is due for release on 7 August via Fiction, with pre-orders now open.
