Manchester City are considering a move for Chelsea captain Enzo Fernández, but Chelsea’s valuation of about £120m could make a deal difficult. The potential transfer matters because City are already reshaping their midfield and may need experienced replacements if Rodri leaves for Barcelona.

Fernández, 25, previously worked under City manager Enzo Maresca at Chelsea and helped his side finish fourth in 2024-25, win the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup. City have already spent £116m on Elliott Anderson and are close to signing Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi for roughly £85m, while Chelsea have reportedly asked about Bournemouth’s Alex Scott as a possible replacement.
