Manny Jacinto’s Scene-Stealing ‘Forgotten Island’ Character Takes Center Stage in New Sneak Peek [Exclusive]
DreamWorks’ animated film *Forgotten Island* is heading to digital release, with a new preview focusing on Bungi, a memorable character voiced by Manny Jacinto. The film draws on Philippine folklore and follows lifelong friends Jo and Raissa as they try to escape an island where their memories are at risk.
Bungi is a 200-year-old tiyanak, a creature traditionally said to take the form of an infant to lure travellers, but this version is a benevolent, big blue demon baby who has never left home. Directors Joel Crawford and Januel P. Mercado say Jacinto’s performance balances naïveté with an edge, while the animation reflects Bungi’s shifts between teenage behaviour and baby-like innocence. The digital edition will include commentary, cast and folklore features, and a making-of featurette.
