Maribou State have announced an extended hiatus to recover physically and mentally after a demanding period of recording and touring. The electronic duo said the break is intended to prevent future work being shaped by an unsustainable pace, rather than signalling an end to making music.

They will fulfil their remaining summer dates, including Bristol’s Forwards Festival on 29 August and London’s LIDO Festival on 31 August, which is expected to be their final performance before the break. Liam Ivory said anxiety, health concerns and exhaustion affected both him and bandmate Chris Davids following their 2019 tour and during lockdown, making the creation of 2025 album ‘Hallucinating Love’ particularly difficult.
