Portuguese-British singer-songwriter Maripool has released a new single called "Favourite", the second track from her forthcoming debut album Rotten Luck. The Lisbon-born, London-based artist follows up last month's single "Crossing" with a darker, more cathartic song, continuing the rollout ahead of the album's release next month.

Maripool, the project of Natacha Simões, describes "Favourite" as exploring the gradual breakdown of a relationship and the way the mind drifts elsewhere before things fully end, using distraction as a form of escapism. The song builds to an intense refrain, layered with haunting guitars and emotive vocals. Rotten Luck is due out on 28 August via Smoking Room / Lost Wisdom.
