Deadline · 2 hours ago

Production has begun on "Soma", a science-fiction drama marking the feature debut of Belgian-Hungarian director Miklós Keleti. The film stars Mark O'Brien ("Nuremberg", "Ready or Not") and Dutch actress Anneke Sluiters ("Heresay") as a scientist couple whose efforts to help their son overcome a rare language disorder spiral into obsession, threatening their family. It is an international co-production spanning Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands and Estonia, reflecting the growing trend of multi-territory financing for independent genre films.

Filming is taking place in Tallinn and Käsmu in Estonia, as well as in the Netherlands, and will continue through to mid-September.
