Former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez has pleaded guilty in connection with a violent altercation with a 69-year-old truck driver in Indianapolis last October, avoiding a jury trial that had been due to start on 8 September. Court filings submitted jointly by Sanchez's lawyers and prosecutors in Marion County Superior Court did not specify the exact charge to which he is pleading guilty, though Sanchez had faced a felony battery count carrying up to six years in prison, alongside three misdemeanour charges including public intoxication.

The incident occurred on 4 October 2025 in an alley behind the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, where Sanchez, who had been in the city to cover a Colts–Raiders game for Fox Sports, approached trucker Peter Tole's vehicle over a parking dispute; the confrontation escalated into a stabbing that left both men injured, with Tole reportedly smelling alcohol on Sanchez's breath. Sanchez was dropped by Fox Sports shortly afterwards and also faces a related civil suit from Tole against him and Fox Corporation, which both sides describe as nearing an amicable resolution. A hearing on the plea is expected on either 9 or 16 November, pending a judge's approval.
