Marmozets have announced the departure of bassist Sam Macintyre, saying their working relationship had become "unworkable" despite efforts to resolve it. Macintyre, who originally joined as a guitarist before switching to bass, is the brother of singer Becca Bottomley and drummer Josh Macintyre, and had been part of the Yorkshire band since it formed in 2007, making his exit a significant shake-up to a long-standing family line-up.

The remaining members, Becca, Josh and guitarist Jack, confirmed the split via Instagram, stating the decision was in the best interests of everyone involved but did not give further details on the circumstances. The news follows a busy period for the band, who released their first album in eight years, "CO.WAR.DICE", in May 2026, and have since played festivals including Download and 2000Trees, as well as supporting Biffy Clyro at Finsbury Park in their biggest show to date.
