Marshals will return for a second season, with star Logan Marshall-Green confirming that filming began in mid-May and that the fallout from the first season's cliffhangers will shape the new episodes. The show, known for its blend of frantic action and character drama, left several storylines dangling at the end of Season 1, notably that of Cal, who revealed shortly before the finale that he has a Pancoast tumour, a serious form of lung cancer, without yet deciding on treatment.

Speaking to Collider, Marshall-Green said Season 2 will bring "ramifications" and "consequences" that ripple through the marshals' lives, while remaining coy about specifics. He confirmed Cal's cancer diagnosis, which is based on one of the show's creators' real-life experiences, will be explored further, and said he is deliberately avoiding learning what happens next so as to experience the story as it unfolds. He also promised more of the large-scale action set pieces balanced with character-driven storytelling that defined the first season.
