NetEase Games has officially confirmed that The Hood, the Marvel villain also known as Parker Robins, will join the hero shooter Marvel Rivals as part of the season 9.5 update. The addition has been anticipated for months following teasers across previous seasons, and brings a magic-and-street-crime themed antagonist to the game's growing cast, expanding options for players who favour tank-style characters.

The Hood will play as a Vanguard, Marvel Rivals' tank class, combining twin-pistol gunplay with mystical cloak abilities that shield allies and weaken enemy fire, culminating in an ultimate that transforms him into a towering "Gun Demon". He is voiced by WWE's Damian Priest and will have team-up synergies with Cloak & Dagger, Jubilee and Magik. Created by Brian K. Vaughan in 2002 and previously portrayed by Anthony Ramos in Disney Plus's Ironheart, the character's backstory was recently fleshed out in a Marvel Rivals Infinity Comic. Season 9.5, titled The Mystery of Thebes, launches on 7 August alongside The Hood's debut.
