NetEase Games has announced that the X-Men character Jubilee will join its Marvel-branded hero shooter Marvel Rivals in season 9, launching on 10 July. The reveal came during a livestream that also unveiled the new season, and it adds another familiar face to the game's expanding roster as it competes with the likes of Overwatch.

Jubilee will be a Strategist (support) hero rather than a damage-dealer, despite her pyrotechnic mutant powers, mirroring past unexpected role choices such as Gambit. Her design nods to her comic-book vampire history, with team-up abilities pairing her with Blade and The Hood, and she gains a "Midnight Mutant" vampire look. Season 9 is themed around the Age of Apocalypse storyline, features a new Egyptian-themed map, and also adds The Hood as a second new character.
