Marvel Tokon PC Launch Is So Bad That Famed FGC Content Creator Maximilian Dood Uninstalled the Game on Stream

IGN · 5 hours ago

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the new 4v4 superhero tag fighter from Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works, has suffered a troubled PC launch, with problems severe enough that prominent fighting-game content creator Maximilian "Maximilian Dood" Christiansen uninstalled the game live on stream. This matters because Marvel Tokon's reception on PC could shape the wider community's perception of the game just days after release, especially given the contrast with a smooth launch on PlayStation 5.

The game launched on PC and PS5 on 6 August 2026, and while PS5 players have reported few issues, PC users have complained of severe stuttering and instability. Its Steam reviews fell to 44% positive shortly after launch and have since dropped further to 41% overall (39% in English), both rated "Mostly Negative" or "Mixed". Maximilian Dood said the PC version made the game "un-fun" and announced he would switch exclusively to PS5, despite the inconvenience of losing progress due to the lack of cross-progression. Arc System Works has said it is investigating the issues, but no fix had been issued as of the article's publication.
