Mary Holland Joins DC’s Jimmy Olsen ‘Superman’ Spinoff Series

Deadline · 2 hours ago

Actress and comedian Mary Holland has been cast as the female lead in DC's upcoming Superman spinoff series centred on Jimmy Olsen, Deadline reports, citing sources close to production. She will play a character named Sandra, joining a cast that already includes Jimmy Tatro as Gorilla Grodd, the telepathic villain ape from DC lore. HBO Max and DC Studios declined to comment on the casting.

The series, described as a true-crime docuseries/mockumentary hosted by Jimmy Olsen (played by Skyler Gisondo in James Gunn's Superman film), will focus its first season on Grodd. It comes from Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault, creators of Netflix's American Vandal, who will write, executive produce and showrun, with DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran also serving as executive producers alongside Warner Bros. Television. Holland, known for CBS's Ghosts and Netflix's Little House on the Prairie reboot, has previous credits including The Big Door Prize, Nightbitch and Woman in the House.
