Mastodon’s “Poisonous Weapons Tour” brought Mastodon, Deafheaven and Alcest to Brooklyn’s Paramount, creating a rare triple bill of acclaimed modern metal acts. The concert was particularly notable for John Baizley of Baroness joining Mastodon for much of their closing sequence, adding vocals and guitar to an already powerful performance.

Alcest opened with a five-song set blending beauty and heaviness, followed by Deafheaven’s intense six-song performance, centred on their latest album and including “Dream House”. Mastodon then played 18 songs, beginning with “Barbarians Blood” from *Marrow Deep*, using striking animated visuals and welcoming Baizley for seven songs, including “Oblivion”, “The Czar”, “Colony of Birchmen” and “Blood and Thunder”.
