Mastodon have released a video for “In The Ruins”, a track from their forthcoming album *Marrow Deep*, due on 28 August through Loma Vista Recordings. The release is significant as it is the band’s first full-length album since the departure and subsequent death of founding guitarist and singer Brent Hinds, and reflects a period of personal loss and disruption for the group.

The song was inspired by Hurricane Helene flooding bassist and vocalist Troy Sanders’s home, destroying belongings and displacing his family for nearly two years. Its animated video, made by Hey Beautiful Jerk, follows a one-eyed creature called Frank through flooded ruins; the album was co-produced with Patrik Berger and Kurt Ballou, mixed by Andrew Scheps, and introduces guitarist Nick Johnston and keyboardist João Nogueira.
