AI adoption drives demand for experienced accountants, says Mavi

TechCrunch · 2 hours ago

Mavi, an AI-focused talent marketplace founded in 2023, has emerged from stealth, aiming to help US companies hire global finance and accounting professionals. Its founders argue that AI adoption is increasing demand for experienced accountants who can apply judgement and oversee automated work, while the US profession faces a shrinking talent pool.

The company says it can find and onboard full-time, mid- and senior-level staff within days, and handles cross-border contracts, compliance and payroll. Co-CEO Molly Liu says AI may reduce entry-level roles, limiting the route into mid-level jobs, while putting more pressure on senior staff. Mavi reports more than 3,000 professionals on its platform and clients including Athena Club; it also disclosed a $4 million seed round led by Harlem Capital.

  • Mavi connects US firms with global finance and accounting talent.
  • It focuses on experienced staff who can work effectively with AI.
  • The company has over 3,000 professionals and raised $4 million.
