Soulfly frontman and former Sepultura member Max Cavalera has spoken about the difference between artists who achieve lasting legendary status and those who merely "play around" in the music business, emphasising longevity, resilience through hardship and staying grounded rather than adopting a big-headed rock star attitude. He credited his family and crew, including his son and wife who perform in the band, for keeping him humble, and reflected that while music matters, it is not as important as work like curing cancer, even as he maintains that music can still help people in its own way.

The interview, conducted by Irina Marinescu of Rock FM România, coincides with news that Soulfly will embark on a 25-date US tour this autumn, opening with a festival slot at Louder Than Life and closing with a hometown headline show in Tempe, Arizona, on 15 October. The bill also features Nailbomb, Cavalera's industrial side project with Alex Newport formed in 1993, and Richie Cavalera's band Incite. The tour follows Soulfly's thirteenth album, "Chama", released on 24 October 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records and co-produced by Cavalera's son and drummer Zyon Cavalera alongside Arthur Rizk.
