McDonald’s Announces Eight Hello Kitty x Godzilla Toys Coming to Happy Meals This August
McDonald’s will launch a Hello Kitty and Godzilla-themed Happy Meal promotion in participating US restaurants on 18 August. The collaboration combines Sanrio characters with famous Godzilla monsters, drawing strong interest from both fan communities and raising concerns that collectors and resellers could make the toys difficult to obtain.
The range contains eight figures, including Hello Kitty as Godzilla, My Melody as Mothra and Kuromi as Mechagodzilla, packaged in special Godzilla-themed boxes. Other pairings include Keroppi with King Ghidorah, Chococat with SpaceGodzilla and Pompompurin with Gigan; concerns about scalping reflect previous McDonald’s Pokémon promotions, including a 2021 US release and a 2025 Japanese campaign affected by bulk buying.
