The result strengthens Medic’s standing in the welterweight division and contributed to a record-breaking night for the promotion in Belgrade.

Medic, 33, dropped Rodriguez with a left-right combination before finishing with strikes on the ground, earning his fourth consecutive first-round win and improving his record to 14-3. Serbia became the 33rd country to host a UFC card, which produced a UFC-record 10 first-round finishes and 12 stoppages overall; elsewhere, Wales’ Oban Elliott suffered a third straight defeat, losing to debutant Michael Oliveira.
