Netflix has launched a new adaptation of the classic drama *Little House on the Prairie*, which premiered on 9 July 2026, with 11-year-old Alice Halsey cast in the central role of Laura Ingalls. Halsey, who grew up with the Little House books at home but only read them after landing the audition, prepared thoroughly by studying the script, listening to podcasts and reading about the late 19th-century period in which the series is set.
