Disney Jr. will launch “Megan and Cupcake Ready for Preschool”, a hybrid live-action and animated series featuring puppeteer and children’s author Megan Baptist alongside a new character, Cupcake. The programme expands Disney Jr.’s existing “Ready for Preschool” shorts and aims to build young children’s confidence, curiosity and readiness for preschool through playful learning.

Ten one-minute introductory live-action shorts will begin appearing on Disney Jr.’s YouTube channel from 13 August, ahead of the programme’s Disney Jr. and Disney+ debut later this autumn. Longer episodes will combine Megan and Cupcake’s activities in the fictional WOW Workshop with existing animated “Ready for Preschool” material, focusing on particular learning and play concepts.
