A federal judge has ruled that Megan Thee Stallion and Roc Nation must face a jury trial over parts of a lawsuit brought by former cameraman Emilio Garcia. The case centres on Garcia’s allegation that he was forced to witness an alleged sexual encounter in a car during a 2022 tour in Spain, alongside claims of workplace discrimination, unpaid wages and retaliation; the ruling means those remaining claims will now be tested before a jury.

Garcia sued in May 2024, saying the alleged incident created a hostile working environment and that his work was later reduced before his dismissal. Judge Gregory H. Woods dismissed claims that retaliation was linked to Garcia’s complaint about the alleged incident, but allowed discrimination, wage and wage-related retaliation claims to proceed. Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyers deny wrongdoing, describing the allegations as false and fabricated, while Garcia’s lawyer said his client welcomed the opportunity to present the case in court.
