Thomas Markle Sr, Meghan Markle’s estranged father, has been arrested in Florida and charged with possessing child sexual abuse material. US prosecutors allege the material included photographs depicting him with minor girls; Meghan said she was “deeply distressed” by the allegations.

Federal agents searched two storage units in the Los Angeles area and seized about 78 items, including slides, film negatives and books, suspected of containing abusive images. Markle, 82, was arrested near Tampa and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted; his son reported him to police and the FBI last month.
