Sully Erna is the singer of the American rock band Godsmack. He established the Scars Foundation after losing friends and fellow musicians to suicide and addiction; it works to raise awareness and encourage people experiencing emotional distress to seek help.

The foundation focuses on mental health, suicide prevention and addiction awareness. Its benefit events bring together musicians to raise money and draw attention to these issues, which can affect people across communities and are often difficult to discuss.

The concert’s performers come from several well-known rock bands, including Aerosmith, Disturbed, Extreme, Staind and Three Days Grace. The event connects the music scene with the foundation’s efforts to reduce stigma and support people in crisis.
