Mercedes can add F1 constructors’ title to Antonelli’s crown
Kimi Antonelli arrives at the Brazilian Grand Prix as Formula One’s youngest world champion, but Mercedes have another title within reach: the constructors’ championship. They lead Ferrari by 126 points with four races remaining and will secure their first constructors’ crown since 2021 if they extend that advantage by at least four points at Interlagos.
Antonelli said he was focused on helping the team finish strongly. Ferrari have outscored Mercedes in the past four races, while Max Verstappen has won three of the last four and moved into second place overall. Lewis Hamilton will make his 400th start in Brazil; the weekend also includes Ferrari reserve Dino Beganovic in Friday practice, Brazilian Rafael Camara’s F1 debut for Haas, and Colton Herta driving for Cadillac in practice.
In short
- Mercedes need to gain four points on Ferrari to clinch the title.
- Antonelli has already won the drivers’ championship.
- Verstappen has won three of the last four races.
