Meta has announced Ray-Ban Meta Audio, its first smart glasses without cameras, with pre-orders opening at $349 ahead of their 13 October release. The glasses focus on audio and Meta AI, offering a less conspicuous alternative to camera-equipped smart glasses amid concerns over discreet filming.
They support calls, voice message replies, music, podcasts, live translation and real-time answers, while remaining open to surrounding sounds. Battery life is rated at up to 12 hours, with a further 48 hours from the charging case; the frames weigh 43 grams, include adjustable fit features, and come in Burbank and Clubmaster styles across 23 colour and lens combinations.
