Meta launches a storefront platform through Facebook Marketplace

Engadget · 2 hours ago

Meta has launched Seller, a separate app designed to give frequent Facebook Marketplace users more professional selling tools. The move could make it easier for businesses and high-volume sellers to manage listings, while potentially changing Marketplace’s more informal, community-led character and creating further revenue opportunities for Meta.

Seller synchronises with existing Marketplace listings, messages and sales history, and includes AI-generated listing details, bulk listing creation, inventory management, a unified buyer inbox and performance data. Marketplace has more than one billion monthly active users and around 430 million items listed each month worldwide; Seller is initially available to US users aged 18 and over on iOS and Android, with a web version being tested.

  • Meta has introduced a professional selling app for Facebook Marketplace users.
  • Seller offers AI listings, messaging, inventory and sales analytics.
  • It is currently available only in the United States.
