Nintendo Life · 2 hours ago

Konami has revealed the resolution and frame rate specifications for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, confirming that the Switch 2 edition will run both included games at 60 frames per second in handheld and TV modes, while the original Switch version is capped at 30fps. This matters for fans deciding which platform to buy the collection on, as performance and visual fidelity vary considerably across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Switch 2 and Steam.

The collection includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, plus bonus content such as the Game Boy Color title Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. On Switch 2, MGS4 reaches an internal resolution of up to 1440p in TV mode, while Peace Walker tops out at 1080p with selectable resolution modes; PS5 and Xbox Series X can output up to native 4K at 60fps for both games. Konami noted that actual performance may vary depending on in-game conditions and, for PC, individual hardware configurations.

  • Switch 2 version of MGS Master Collection Vol. 2 runs at 60fps.
  • Original Switch version is capped at 30fps.
  • Resolutions vary widely by platform, up to native 4K on PS5/Xbox.
