Meta’s app for creating generative AI minigames is now available in the US

Engadget · 2 hours ago

Meta has launched Pocket, an app that lets users generate simple AI-driven minigames, called "gizmos," from text prompts, in the US following a brief test run in Brazil. The release marks the latest step in Meta's broader push into generative AI tools that blend creation with social sharing, as the app combines "vibe-coding" with a scrollable, feed-based social component.

Users can prompt Pocket to create gizmos that respond to touch and tilt and can incorporate photos and music, then save favourites, repost them to a feed, or remix creations made by others. The "gizmo" branding follows Meta's hiring of most of the team behind a similar app called Gizmo, which subsequently shut down. Pocket is free to download and joins other recent Meta AI features, including the Vibes feed within the Meta AI app and AI-powered profile photo animations on Facebook.

  • Users prompt-generate "gizmos" that respond to touch, tilt, photos and music.
  • Follows Meta's hiring of the team behind the similar Gizmo app.
