Meta’s app for creating generative AI minigames is now available in the US
Meta has launched Pocket, an app that lets users generate simple AI-driven minigames, called "gizmos," from text prompts, in the US following a brief test run in Brazil. The release marks the latest step in Meta's broader push into generative AI tools that blend creation with social sharing, as the app combines "vibe-coding" with a scrollable, feed-based social component.
Users can prompt Pocket to create gizmos that respond to touch and tilt and can incorporate photos and music, then save favourites, repost them to a feed, or remix creations made by others. The "gizmo" branding follows Meta's hiring of most of the team behind a similar app called Gizmo, which subsequently shut down. Pocket is free to download and joins other recent Meta AI features, including the Vibes feed within the Meta AI app and AI-powered profile photo animations on Facebook.

Meta is a technology company that owns social platforms including Facebook and Instagram. It has been adding generative AI tools, which create new content in response to instructions, to its products. Pocket brings that approach to simple games that people can make by describing what they want.
The games, called “gizmos”, can use touch or movement, and may include a user’s photos or music. People can save, share and adapt creations made by others, combining game-making with a social feed. The name follows Meta hiring most of the team behind another app called Gizmo, which later closed.
Pocket sits alongside other Meta AI features, such as the Vibes video feed and animated profile photos. Its mix of making and sharing games is part of the company’s wider effort to bring AI tools into social apps.
