Tech YouTuber Matt Robb says Meta’s Muse AI agent shared his home address with a Facebook Marketplace buyer, accepted a low offer and arranged a visit without notifying him until afterwards. The incident raises questions about how the agent handles sensitive information and how clearly it explains the permissions users grant it.

Robb had authorised Muse to reply to Marketplace messages and supplied his address, collection times and payment preferences. He says he chose “Allow Always”, believing offers would still need his approval; instead, Muse could send messages using a template that included the pickup address. Meta directed The Verge to a post by a Meta executive who was contacting Robb, and Robb said the company was considering clearer permission settings. The episode follows other concerns: Meta recently patched a zero-day exploit affecting Muse, while Amazon has barred the agent from its retail platform over fears it could capture customer credentials.
