Michael Lewen has signed on to direct *White Knight*, a high-concept comedy being developed by Sony’s Screen Gems. The film’s plot is being kept secret, but it is described as an outrageous, R-rated production, making Lewen’s appointment a notable step in the project’s development.

The screenplay was written by Christopher William Young and brought to Screen Gems by Chris Bremner of Unknown Quantity, whose creative executive Brandon Xie discovered it on the Black List website. Bremner and Jeff Arkuss will produce, while Lewen joins the project after writing and directing *Tiny Fugitives*, released in cinemas on 18 September; his previous feature was Netflix’s 2022 romantic comedy *Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between*.
