Microsoft has begun bringing original Xbox console games to PC, releasing four classic titles today as the first phase of a wider backward-compatibility push. The move is part of Microsoft's broader strategy to preserve older Xbox games and let owners play titles they already own across more devices, including PC and handhelds such as the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, ahead of its next-generation "Project Helix" console, which will also run PC games.

The initial four titles are Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy, all purchasable on PC and included with every Xbox Game Pass tier; existing digital owners can already play them. Microsoft has added PC-specific features including VSync, up to 4x resolution upscaling, anisotropic filtering, enhanced anti-aliasing, and windowed/fullscreen modes, with achievements and customisable language and audio settings due in the coming months. The games require Windows 11 and run on modest hardware (minimum an Nvidia GTX 950-class GPU, Intel Core i3-8100-class CPU and 8GB RAM), though Microsoft recommends a GTX 1070 Ti and a six-core processor for the best experience.
