Microsoft has confirmed pricing for its special-edition 25th anniversary Xbox, a translucent green console that echoes the colourway of the original Xbox. Preorders open on 27 August, with some dedicated fans receiving early access invitations beforehand, and the console will officially launch on 13 November priced at $899.

The console is essentially an Xbox Series X with 1TB of storage housed in a laser-etched, individually numbered "OG Green" shell, and comes bundled with a matching controller and a full download of Halo: Campaign Evolved. The controller will also be sold separately for $79 from 20 October. Microsoft first unveiled the console at June's Xbox Games Showcase, where CEO Asha Sharma surprised attendees by giving free units to fans wearing event badges, and the company has since released a range of matching "OG Green" accessories including a keyboard, mouse, earbuds and mobile controllers.
