Pricing details for Microsoft's special edition 25th anniversary Xbox Series X have leaked ahead of an expected official reveal at Gamescom next week, confirming fears that the translucent green console will carry a steep price tag. According to Dealabs leaker billbil-kun, the console will cost €899.99, likely translating to $899.99 in the US, with a release date of 27 November to coincide with Black Friday.

The launch date is later than the 20 October release previously leaked for the matching 25th anniversary controller, which will also be sold separately. While the price is high, it is only around €100 more than a standard disc-drive Xbox Series X and matches the cost of a standard PlayStation 5 Pro, reflecting a wider trend of rising console prices driven by tariffs, logistics issues and increasing memory costs linked to AI data centres. Nintendo similarly confirmed higher UK, US and European pricing for the Switch 2 the day before, with rises taking effect from 1 September.
