An 18-year-old woman accidentally struck and fatally injured her father while he was teaching her to parallel park in Warren, Michigan, police said. The 62-year-old was taken to hospital but died there; the incident is under investigation and no charges have been filed.

The pair were practising on Warner Avenue on Sunday afternoon when she hit him with a 1998 Toyota Camry and dragged him a short distance before stopping. Police said drugs and alcohol have been ruled out, the family is cooperating, and preliminary evidence is consistent with the daughter’s account. Investigators are seeking information from witnesses.
