Mike Leigh’s *Tender Loving Care* won three major prizes at the San Sebastián Film Festival: the Golden Shell for Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Leading Performance for Kate O’Flynn. The result strengthened the film’s position as the festival’s standout title, while audience awards recognised *La Bola Negra* and *NAZA*.

Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi’s Spanish queer epic *La Bola Negra* won the Audience Award for Best Film, following its earlier People’s Choice Award success at Toronto. The Audience Award for Best European Film went to Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor’s documentary *NAZA*, described as an exposé of alleged Israeli war crimes in Gaza; other notable prizes included Best Director for Amanda Kernell and the Special Jury Prize for Ah Biao’s *Border*.
