Milcho Manchevski’s ‘Sister Brother Manhole Cover’ Wins Top Prize at Tokyo Film Fest

Milcho Manchevski’s *Sister Brother Manhole Cover* won the Grand Prix at the Tokyo International Film Festival. The award recognises the Macedonian director’s film about family love on the margins of society, his first feature since *Kaymak* in 2022.

The Grand Prix includes 3 million yen, worth about $19,000. Other winners included Lisandro Alonso for best director, *Magic Atlas* for the special jury prize, Hu Ling for best actress and Narita Ryo for best actor; more than 69,000 people attended screenings of 204 films over the festival’s 10 days.
