Argentine artists Milo J and Trueno told a Latin Alternative Music Conference panel in New York that their international success has come from embracing, rather than diluting, their local identity. They said music rooted in their neighbourhoods, language and Argentina’s football culture has connected with audiences abroad because it feels authentic.

The pair also advised emerging musicians to protect their own voice and build trusted creative communities, while learning about contracts and legal protection as their careers grow. They were cautious about artificial intelligence in music, saying it can assist with demos or references but cannot replace human experience; both are due to perform at LAMC’s Central Park closing event on 1 August.

  • Milo J and Trueno championed authentically Argentine music.
  • They urged artists to protect their creative voices.
  • Both said AI cannot replace human artistic experience.
