Explained simply

Mina the Hollower is a video game released in May 2026 by Yacht Club Games that combines challenging, dark gameplay with a retro visual style inspired by the Game Boy Color console. The game is a Soulslike (a genre characterised by difficult combat and intricate level design) presented through the distinctive pixel-art aesthetic of handheld consoles from the early 2000s.

The game received widespread critical acclaim following its launch and briefly held the top position on Metacritic's 2026 games rankings before being narrowly surpassed by Forza Horizon 6.
