Miss USA & Miss Teen USA Pageants Dropped By The CW Days Before Air

The CW has pulled the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants from its schedule just days before they were due to air, without giving a clear public reason. In a brief statement, the network said the decision followed "careful consideration and conversations with the Miss USA Organization," while pageant organisers cited an unresolved "contractual issue" with production arrangements identified two weeks earlier. Both broadcasts will instead stream via the Queen Beauty Network, as they did last year.

Miss Teen USA had been scheduled for Wednesday 26 August and Miss USA for Thursday 27 August, under a multi-year deal The CW struck with new owner BDE Miss USA just two months ago in June. This follows an earlier three-year agreement from April 2024 that went unfulfilled after ownership changes meant the pageants went unaired on network television for the first time since 1965. The organisation has faced repeated turmoil in recent years, including the 2024 resignations of Miss USA Noelia Voigt and Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava amid abuse allegations, and this month's dethroning of Miss North Carolina USA Brittany Boltinhouse over conduct violations, with runner-up Myla Hadley taking her place.
