Missing teenager rescued after reaching out to another player in Among Us
A 17-year-old who went missing from Utah in May 2025 was found at a home in Oregon after contacting another teenager through the game Among Us. The case highlights how the young player’s decision to tell a parent led to FBI involvement and the missing teenager’s safe recovery.
The girl, who was 15 when she disappeared, had been given a phone that could connect to the internet only through Wi-Fi. After the two teenagers moved their conversation to another social media app, she said she was being held against her will; the other player’s parent contacted the FBI on 1 November. Adam Hunter Harmel, 39, was arrested that day and charged with transporting her across state lines with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity; the charge is an allegation, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
