MK2 Films Scores Brady Corbet, Kleber Mendonça Filho, Céline Sciamma Shorts (EXCLUSIVE)

Variety ·

MK2 Films has added shorts by Brady Corbet, Kleber Mendonça Filho and Céline Sciamma to its international sales catalogue, broadening its focus on lesser-seen work by established directors. The move gives festivals and cinemas more opportunities to programme these films and offers audiences a different view of the filmmakers’ creative work.

The acquisitions span from Corbet’s 2008 short “Protect You + Me” to Sciamma’s 44-minute “Tutti Frutti” and Mendonça Filho’s nine-minute “South of Tehran”. Sciamma’s film draws on footage she shot from 2022 and won the Jury Prize at the 2026 Villa Medici Film Festival; Mendonça Filho’s features Jafar Panahi recalling his first encounters with cinema. The catalogue also includes shorts by Jia Zhangke and the Dardenne brothers, alongside MK2’s feature-film titles.

  • The films span nearly two decades and include works by Sciamma and Corbet.
