CCTV footage released by Indonesian authorities shows the moment a pilot was caught attempting to smuggle 70,000 ecstasy pills through Jakarta airport hidden in his suitcase. The footage, made public on Monday, shows officers pulling several bags of drugs from the case, highlighting ongoing efforts by Indonesian authorities to intercept drug trafficking through the country's airports.

The Malaysian pilot was found to be under the influence at the time of his arrest and told authorities he had been paid the equivalent of £9,000 to carry out the smuggling attempt. The seized pills weighed around four stone (26kg) in total.
