Moment supercars are set ablaze in wedding petrol bomb attack: Three men throw missiles at luxury cars and guests as they dined at Birmingham banqueting hall

Daily Mail ·

Three masked men attacked a wedding at the Royal Shalimar banqueting hall in Birmingham on Wednesday night, throwing petrol bombs at two supercars and narrowly missing guests, including a baby, standing outside the venue. The attack sparked fires and panic among the hundreds of guests dining inside, though quick action by venue staff and emergency services meant no one was injured, and West Midlands Police have launched an investigation.

The suspects, dressed in black, were filmed on CCTV throwing five missiles at around 8.30pm, setting alight a Lamborghini and a McLaren before fleeing down Mole Street and escaping in a white Volkswagen Golf. Venue staff extinguished the flames with fire extinguishers before fire crews and police arrived, and one witness described a bystander kicking away a missile before it could roll under a vehicle. The Royal Shalimar confirmed the building itself was undamaged and remains open for bookings, while police are appealing for information via log 5308 of 18 August.
