Monty Don bids ‘final goodbye’ to Gardeners’ World after two decades

Monty Don presented his final episode of Gardeners’ World after more than two decades on the programme, ending his regular role from Longmeadow, where the show has been based for 16 years. He thanked viewers and colleagues, calling it a privilege to share his gardening life with them, and said goodbye alongside his dog Ned.

Don joined the series in 2003, replacing Alan Titchmarsh, and announced in September that this series would be his last, saying it was the right time for a change. He will appear in two winter specials expected before Christmas and remain part of next year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show presenting team; the BBC has not yet named his successor.
