Most people are preordering GTA 6’s $100 edition, which just happens to have a lot of extra content, says Take-Two CEO
Take-Two's chief executive confirmed that consumers choosing to preorder GTA 6 are predominantly selecting the premium $100 edition rather than the standard $80 tier. The Ultimate Edition distinguishes itself through substantial additional content, including in-game vehicles, weapon modifications, cosmetic items, and exclusive customisation options. The executive attributed this purchasing pattern partly to early adopters being particularly invested in the franchise.
The publisher shows confidence in the game's value proposition and market position, with leadership indicating the base price represents strong consumer value and suggesting the company could have commanded a higher price point. When questioned about potential discounting ahead of the Christmas period, the CEO avoided explicit commitment but emphasised that Take-Two historically maintained pricing on GTA V over an extended timeframe, signalling the intention to protect margins rather than pursue promotional pricing in the near term.
