Brisbane mother charged over alleged attempt to poison two sons

A 47-year-old Brisbane woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to poison her two sons using a noxious substance. The alleged attempted murder came to light when a 70-year-old neighbour visiting the family home noticed the substance and contacted Queensland Police. The alleged poisoning occurred on 24 September, involving two boys aged 12 and 15. Despite the serious allegations, neither boy required medical treatment and both remain safe and well. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment, discharged shortly thereafter, and immediately arrested by police. She was charged by investigators from the Ferny Grove Child Protection and Investigation Unit and was expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court.
