Motorcyclist killed and another critically injured in horse float crash
A motorcyclist in his 30s was killed and another rider was critically injured when a ute towing a horse float rolled and collided with two motorcycles on The Bucketts Way near Booral, north of Newcastle. The crash has prompted a police investigation.
The second rider, a man in his 70s, suffered serious leg injuries and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital. Police allege the 18-year-old ute driver returned a positive roadside breath test; she was taken for further testing, while the horse was uninjured.
