MOTÖRHEAD Shares Mini-Documentary On Making Of 40th-Anniversary Edition Of ‘Orgasmatron’ Album
MOTÖRHEAD has released an 18-minute documentary about the making of the 40th-anniversary edition of *Orgasmatron*. Longtime producer Cameron Webb discusses his new remix, what he found in the original recordings and the influence of the album’s original producer, Bill Laswell, and engineer, Jason Corsaro.
Originally released in 1986, the album featured Lemmy, Phil Campbell, Würzel and Pete Gill, and included songs such as “Orgasmatron”, “Deaf Forever” and “Built for Speed”. The anniversary edition, due on 6 November via BMG, includes remastered original recordings cut at half speed from the original tapes, alongside Webb’s new remix and remaster from the original stems. Webb says he aimed to preserve the original’s distinctive character rather than make it sound like a modern metal record.

The album was originally produced by Bill Laswell, with Jason Corsaro as engineer. For the anniversary edition, producer Cameron Webb worked from the original tapes and separate recording parts, drawing on the earlier work while aiming to keep the album’s original sound.
